Komoroski, 26, was arrested on April 29, 2023, the day after she crashed her car into a golf cart carrying newlyweds Samantha Miller and Aric Hutchinson on their wedding day. A South Carolina Law Enforcement Division toxicology report had found Komoroski was three times over the blood alcohol limit at the time of the crash.

WCBD reported that Komoroski was driving 65 mph in a 25-mph zone. Two other passengers riding in the golf cart along with Miller and Hutchinson survived the crash. Prosecutors also reportedly pointed out that Komoroski denied a field sobriety test and a breathalyzer test after the crash.

The outlet reported that Komoroski told the court on Monday that she is currently in Alcoholics Anonymous, which she began attending while in jail after the crash.

Miller, who was 34, died at the scene of the crash from blunt force injuries, Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal told PEOPLE last year. Meanwhile, Hutchinson had “reconstruction surgeries, numerous broken bones, and a brain injury," according to a GoFundMe page from his mother.

“I was handed Aric’s wedding ring in a plastic bag at the hospital, five hours after Sam placed it on his finger and they read each other their vows,” Hutchinson’s mother Annette wrote in the fundraiser post at the time. “Aric has lost the love of his life.”

Miller’s mother spoke again in court on Monday shortly after Komoroski entered her guilty pleas, according to WCBD, which reported the mother was “visibly and audibly emotional” while addressing the judge.

“She doesn’t get to come back to life in ten years, twenty-five years,” the bride’s mother said. “This is a lifetime."
