Bus Ticket of Family Who Vanished After Dropoff at Station Shows Stop in Mexico: Report

Steys Yanira David-Funez, her husband Ramon Ruiz Crisanto and their two daughters Jazzlyn Esther Ruiz David and Dara Ismeray Ruiz DavidA family of four who went missing last November after being dropped off at a bus station in New Orleans may have stopped in Mexico, according to a new report.
Police said Steys Yanira David-Funez, 27, her husband Ramon Ruiz Crisanto, 31, and their two daughters Jazzlyn Esther Ruiz David, 4, and one-year-old Dara Ismeray Ruiz David vanished without a trace on Nov. 30 after they were dropped off at a Greyhound bus station at 1001 Loyola Avenue in New Orleans.
A “reporting person” allegedly told police that the family of four was moving to Houston, and “he received a text message the same date advising the family had arrived at their destination,” according to a police press release.
“Subsequent attempts to make contact with the family have also been unsuccessful," the release adds.

According to KPRC 2, the family, who are originally from Honduras, arrived in Houston but then got on another bus and traveled to McAllen, Texas, and then Monterrey, Mexico.
KPRC 2 reported that the Honduran consulate found the family’s Greyhound bus ticket.
Steys' sister Stephany David told KPRC 2 that she wasn’t sure why her sister would be in Mexico and that she had stayed there previously for two months before she relocated to New Orleans.

“We think about it every day, every night we can’t sleep thinking about her. It’s so sad,” said Steys' family member Farid Miranda.
New Orleans police would not comment and said they have no updates at this time.
