Burnaby RCMP release sketch of suspect in park sexual assault
RCMP in Burnaby, B.C., have released a sketch of a suspect in an alleged sexual assault in the city's Central Park in February.
Police said in a Monday statement that on Feb. 19, a woman in her 80s was walking through a trail in the park when she was approached by an unknown man.
The man allegedly groped the woman and attempted to kiss her. The woman was not injured in the alleged assault, and police say no similar assaults have been reported to them.
"Despite our ongoing investigation, so far a suspect has not been identified in this incident," said Cpl. Mike Kalanj in the statement. "We are now releasing a suspect sketch and appealing to the public for assistance."
The suspect is described as being around 40 to 45 years old with short thick black hair, with a groomed beard around one to two inches long, and having medium-toned skin.
At the time of the alleged attack, police say he was wearing a grey nylon jacket, black pants and black shoes.
Anyone with more information on the suspect is asked to call RCMP at 604-646-9999 and quote file number 2024-5930.
