Buckingham Palace Gave an Update on Queen Camilla's Health Amid Chest Infection
And revealed whether or not she'll attend the annual Remembrance Day events.
After coming down a chest infection this week, Buckingham Palace is providing an update on Queen Camilla's health. And sadly, she's not doing well enough to attend this year's Remembrance Day events with the rest of the royal family.
On Saturday morning, the Palace released a statement revealing that Camilla would be skipping both the annual Festival of Remembrance at Royal Albert Hall and Remembrance Sunday at The Cenotaph war memorial in London due to her ongoing illness.
“Following doctors’ guidance to ensure a full recovery from a seasonal chest infection, and to protect others from any potential risk, Her Majesty will not attend this weekend’s Remembrance events," the statement read. "While this is a source of great disappointment to The Queen, she will mark the occasion privately at home and hopes to return to public duties early next week."
According to People, there is reportedly no cause for concern over Camilla's health and that she just didn't want to pass her illness onto anyone else.
Amidst her recovery, two other royals have stepped up in her place. First, Birgitte, the Duchess of Gloucester represented the queen at the annual Field of Remembrance event at Westminster Abbey while supporting one of Camilla's patronages, The Poppy Factory Charity, on Thursday. And later that same day, her husband, King Charles, hosted a reception solo for British athletes who received medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympic Games.
