BTS album ‘Proof’ debuts number one on Billboard Global chart, becomes sixth album to top charts (VIDEO)

PETALING JAYA, June 21 — K-pop band BTS’ latest anthology album Proof that was released on June 10 has made its way to number one on the Billboard Global chart.

The Korean boy band has made history after their other five albums had also been on the number one on the Billboard 200 list, which are Love Yourself: Tear, Love Yourself: Answer, Map of the Soul: Persona, Map of the Soul: 7, BE.

Allkpop reported that a total of 314,000 of the album units in the United States in the first week after the release ― the majority of the unit figure was driven by CD album sales.

Not just that, Billboard reported that the song Yet To Come from the album made it on the Billboard Global Excl. The US chart, which was released 11 days ago has received over 100 million views.

On the Billboard Global 200 list, the song was placed on number two, behind Harry Styles’ As It Was.

On BTS’ official website, the new three-CD album introduces three new tracks, one in each CD: Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment), Run BTS, and For Youth.

Proof comprises 48 tracks total, from the greatest hit songs, and solo/sub-unit tracks selected by each member, unreleased tracks to special tracks.

Six days ago, the South Korean boy band announced that they will be taking a break to focus on their solo careers.
