Brothers at Head of Luxury Real Estate Empire Accused of Drugging, Sexually Assaulting Women: Prosecutors
Tal, Oren and Alon Alexander have been accused of sexually assaulting multiple women
Three Florida brothers have been charged with sex trafficking for alleged incidents dating back more than a decade, court papers show.
Alon Alexander and Oren Alexander, 37-year-old twins, and their brother Tal Alexander, 38, were charged in a federal indictment obtained by PEOPLE. All three, who primarily live in New York and Florida, were arrested in Miami, Fla., on Wednesday, Dec. 11, the Southern District of New York said in a statement.
Alon and Tal are real estate moguls in Florida, with their luxury real estate businesses encompassing both Florida and New York State, according to the indictment. Oren is an executive at his family's private security firm.
The indictment accuses all three brothers of carrying out an extensive sex-trafficking scheme across domestic and international borders going back to 2010. The brothers "used their wealth and prominent positions in real estate to create and facilitate opportunities to sexually assault women," SDNY prosecutors alleged in their statement.
Prosecutors allege the brothers met women through dating or their social contacts before raping them.
On an unspecified number of occasions, the brothers allegedly raped their victims together, per the indictment.
Prosecutors further allege that the women were lured into the attacks with the promise of material goods and luxury experiences; on some occasions the women were reportedly offered these goods and experiences after the alleged attacks.
Prosecutors allege the attacks were pre-planned, and involved drugging of the women. According to prosecutors, the brothers would research women to determine if they were "sufficiently attractive" to be invited to their events and trips, where the victims would be assaulted, the indictment alleges.
