"In Broad Daylight" leads Hong Kong Film Awards nominations
8 Feb - The Hong Kong Film Awards nomination list is out and "In Broad Daylight" is leading with 16 nominations in total.
The film, which follows an undercover journalist as she exposes elder abuse in a nursing home, is nominated in categories that include Best Film, Best Director for Lawrence Kan, Best Actor for Bowie Lam, Best Actress for Jennifer Yu, as well as Best Screenplay for Tong Chui Ping, Li Cheuk Fung, and Lawrence Kan.
It is also nominated in other categories like Best Supporting Actor (David Chiang), Best Supporting Actress (Rachel Leung), Best New Performer (Hui Yuet Sheung), Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing and Best Art Direction.
Nick Cheuk's "Time Still Turn the Pages" and Felix Chong's "The Goldfinger" followed suit with 12 nominations each, while the courtroom drama, "A Guilty Conscience" and Soi Cheang's "Mad Fate" received ten.
The event will be held on 14 April at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
