Britney Spears is thanking the #FreeBritney movement for helping to remove her father from her 13-year conservatorship.

In a Twitter post on Monday, Spears addressed her fans directly, writing: “#FreeBritney movement… I have no words… because of you guys and your constant resilience in freeing me from my conservatorship… my life is now in that direction !!!!!”

Spears also revealed that their support struck a chord with her emotionally. “I cried last night for two hours cause my fans are the best and I know it,” Spears wrote alongside a video of her posing in a white crop top and matching shorts.

In a thread, Spears continued thanking her fans, writing: “I feel your hearts and you feel mine… that much I know is true,” complete with a heart emoji.

On Sept. 29, Spears had a large victory in her conservatorship case when her father, Jamie Spears, was suspended as the conservator of her estate, effective immediately.

“I believe that the suspension is in the best interests of the conservatee,” Judge Brenda Penny said in her decision. “The current situation is untenable.”

A hearing has been set for Nov. 12 to determine if the conservatorship will be terminated entirely. During the Sept. 29 hearing, Spears’ attorney, Mathew Rosengart, argued that it was clearly time to remove Jamie Spears from his daughter’s conservatorship.

“It’s about what Britney wants. She wants him out of her life today,” Rosengart said. “Britney Spears deserves to wake up tomorrow without her father as her conservator.”

An account, John Zabel, has been appointed by the court to oversee Spears’ finances in the meantime. Jodi Montgomery, Spears’ conservator of her person, is continuing in her role for the time being.

Jamie Spears’ attorney, Vivian Thoreen, argued that the conservatorship should be terminated outright, as opposed to suspending Spears’ father.

“There is not a shred of evidence for suspension,” Thoreen said. “Mr. Spears has faithfully and loyally served. His record is impeccable.”
