LONDON (Reuters) - Trust between Britain and the European Union was eroded by the bloc's moves to place export restrictions on vaccines to Northern Ireland last week, senior minister Michael Gove said on Tuesday.
"Trust has been eroded, damage has been done and urgent action is therefore needed," Gove told parliament.

Huawei has denied the reports, saying it just wants to work with automakers on in-car technology. But three sources say the firm has already started designing EVs, and approached suppliers. None of the automakers mentioned by the sources would comment. But shares in Changan's main listed unit surged as much as 8% after the Reuters report. Huawei may not be the only tech firm to pivot into cars. Apple is reported to be planning an electric vehicle, which could launch as soon as 2024. Shares in Kia jumped 3% Friday (February 26) after South Korean media reports said it might build the car. Police in Italy released footage on February 26 showing the theft in June last year of almost 3,400 bottles of wine and champagne, valued at approximately €150,000, from a warehouse in Bari, in relation to which four people were arrested this week.The incident happened on June 26, police said. The arrests happened on February 23, according to reports.Police said the suspects first entered the wine shop pretending to be customers. Denmark risks not reaching its ambitious goal to cut carbon emissions by 70% by 2030 because it is too reliant on unproven technology, an independent council monitoring the effort said on Friday. The Nordic country in 2020 set one of the most ambitious and legally binding climate targets in the world - cutting CO2 emissions 70% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels, but its government has yet to come up with a detailed plan for how to achieve that target. With the government's current initiatives, Denmark is on course to reduce emissions by 7.2 million tonnes in 2030, much below the intended 20 million tonnes, an independent council set up to monitor progress said in a report.

A single dose of Pfizer and BioNtech's COVID-19 vaccine cuts the number of asymptomatic infections and could significantly reduce the risk of transmission of the virus, results of a UK study found on Friday. Researchers analysed results from thousands of COVID-19 tests carried out each week as part of hospital screenings of healthcare staff in Cambridge, eastern England. "Our findings show a dramatic reduction in the rate of positive screening tests among asymptomatic healthcare workers after a single dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine," said Nick Jones, an infectious diseases specialist at Cambridge University Hospital, who co-led the study.
