Breakout Brighton star makes huge decision on future amid Man Utd, Tottenham chase for brilliant signing
A hugely impressive Brighton player has decided where he will be playing next season amid interest from Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea, according to a report.
Brighton are enjoying a fantastic season, despite manager Graham Potter leaving for Chelsea in September. There was concern that his departure might badly impact the club’s project, but they have continued on their upward trajectory under his replacement, Roberto de Zerbi.
The Seagulls sit in seventh place on 42 points. They could qualify for the Europa Conference League or Europa League for next season, which would be a phenomenal achievement.
De Zerbi has helped the likes of Alexis Mac Allister, Kaoru Mitoma, Evan Ferguson and Moises Caicedo shine. Brighton are picking up points but are also playing a very attractive style of football.
Brighton officials will be delighted with their success, although it looks set to be a busy summer keeping some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs at bay.
Mac Allister, Mitoma, Ferguson and Caicedo have all been linked with moves to other English teams.

On Saturday, Football Insider revealed Man Utd to be ‘in the hunt’ for 18-year-old striker Ferguson, who has been in brilliant form of late.
Ferguson has found the back of the net seven times in 16 senior appearances this season, which has left Man Utd scouts drooling. And the Red Devils could now make a bid for him in addition to going after Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
Brighton ace learns about Man Utd, Spurs interest
According to an update on the situation from The Sun, Ferguson has been made aware of Man Utd’s interest. Erik ten Hag’s side will send a scout to watch him represent the Republic of Ireland in their game against France on Monday night.
Tottenham and Chelsea have also struck up an interest in Ferguson amid his breakout campaign.
However, the attacker ‘is in no hurry to leave Brighton’ and will therefore reject offers from all three of Brighton’s Prem rivals this summer.
He is worried about the amount of game time he will receive by joining Man Utd, Spurs or Chelsea. In contrast, Ferguson knows he will continue to play regularly for Brighton.
This decision will come as a huge boost to Brighton. It seems they will benefit from having him in their team for the next few years at least.
Ferguson’s current Seagulls contract runs until June 2026. He only penned fresh terms in October, but it would not be a surprise if Brighton handed him another new deal at the end of the season to reward his brilliant performances in their first team.
Ten Hag will obviously be disappointed that Man Utd will be unable to sign Ferguson this summer. He is on his way to becoming one of the best young strikers in the English top flight.
However, Man Utd do have other irons in the fire. They have recently begun pursuing 20-year-old Danish talent Rasmus Hojlund. He has performed excellently this season, bagging 14 goals in 33 games while playing for Sturm Graz and then Atalanta.
Meanwhile, a ‘frustrated’ Man Utd player has revealed he has held ‘private’ talks with Ten Hag about his lack of game time.
