Due to starring in all of your mom's favorite '90s movies and a small indie western called Yellowstone, Kevin Costner is wildly rich. Like, not just ~regular celebrity~ with several million in the bank, rich; We're talking beachside mansion, can afford thousands of dollars in child support and still have money to play with, owns an entire estate in Aspen that he rents out for $30,000+ a night, rich. But honestly, Kevin's finances are pretty complicated and nuanced (especially thanks to a highly contentious divorce from Christine Baumgartner), so behold: a breakdown of Kevin Costner's entire net worth.

Kevin's Real Estate Portfolio Is Worth Hundreds of Millions

On top of owning 10-acres of gorgeous beachfront property in California worth $145 million, (which reportedly has its own baseball field), Kevin has a residence in Ventura, apartments in Los Angeles, and that aforementioned huge estate in Aspen that he apparently rents out for $36,000 per night. So, like, maybe we could all gather together our resources and afford to stay in it for like an hour?

Kevin's Yellowstone Salary Is Huge (and Contentious)

In 2022, Variety reported Kevin was making a whopping $1.3 million per episode of Yellowstone. And thanks to his recent child support hearing with Christine, we know a lot more about how his payments on the show work.

According to People, Kevin said there was “long, hard-fought negotiation” about splitting Yellowstone season 5 into two halves and claimed he changed his schedule on Horizon: An American Saga so he could shoot the first half of the season. He also noted he was set to receive $12 million for each part of season 5 and “will probably go to court over" getting the second half of that payment. He reportedly earned $19.2 million for the fifth season, and if by some miracle a sixth season is produced, he'd be making $1.5 million per episode. So, if the math is mathing... that's $24 million for the entire season.

Psst: Kevin also said this about returning to the show: “I couldn’t help them any more. We tried to negotiate, they offered me less money than previous seasons, there were issues with the creative….”

^ Words Kevin will never say to any of us, tragically.

Kevin Is Paying Over $60,000 a Month in Child Support

A huge amount of money, but it's honestly a fraction of what it could have been. Kevin had previously been paying his ex-wife $129,000 per month in child support for their three kids, which was just recently reduced to $63,209.

His Average Monthly Income? Truly Staggering

Kevin's monthly earnings came to light amid the divorce hearing between him and Christine, when his lawyers revealed, via Entertainment Tonight, that his "average cash flow for the 30 months ending June 30, 2023" was $1,308,920 per month. His accountants noted this was with Kevin's Yellowstone salary being taken into account—and that without it, his monthly income during the same time period was $468,136 per month. (Obviously, his accountant was arguing that Kevin's Yellowstone salary shouldn't be factored into future child support payments.)

Oh, and speaking of acrimonious divorces, FYI that Kevin reportedly had to pay $80 million in his first divorce settlement to his ex Cindy Silva—but that was back in the '90s, so yeah...he bounced back.

Wondering What Kevin Makes Per Movie?

Aside from Yellowstone, the '90s were Kevin's highest grossing years. Per the Daily Mail, this is what he earned for some of his biggest roles:

Dances With Wolves: $3 million

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves: $40 million (for which had a share of the profits)

Waterworld: $40 million

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kevin made a massive investment for his new movie, Horizon. He spent $38 million of his own money on the Western, which he directed, cowrote, and produced. TBD on how much he's making from it, but I'm willing to bet it's just as much, if not more.
