Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro said he has "mold" in his lungs on Thursday (July 30) weeks after he'd tested positive for COVID-19.
Bolsonaro chuckled about the new infection in a livestream.
"I just had a blood test, I was a little weak yesterday. I have a bit of an infection and I'm on antibiotics now. After 20 days indoors, I have other problems. I have mold in my lungs."
Bolsonaro spent nearly three weeks isolated in his presidential residence after revealing he had the coronavirus.
Then last Saturday he tested negative.
The right-wing leader has been criticized for minimizing the severity of the disease and doing little to curb its spread in Brazil.
And just says after he tested negative for the virus, he was seen taking off his mask in public.
On Thursday more bad news -- his wife, Michelle, tested positive for the virus and it was revealed a fifth minister of his cabinet was diagnosed as well.
Despite the surge in infections among those closest to him -- Bolsonaro says he will go ahead with a visit to Rio Grand do Sul, Brazil's southernmost state, on Friday (July 31).
