‘The Boys’ Season 4 First Look Teases a Rough Election Day for Butcher and Victory for Homelander

“The Boys” Season 4 will pick up where “Gen V” Season 1 left off, just ahead of an in-universe presidential election. And from the looks of the first promo images released by Amazon for the new episodes of “The Boys,” the Vought supes led by Homelander (Antony Starr) are going to have a good Election Day, and Billy Bucher (Karl Urban) and The Boys are going to be left crushed by defeat.

Amazon has not yet set a premiere date for “The Boys” Season 4, but confirmed through these photos it will stream in 2024.

See the pair of first-look photos below, which feature Homelander, who is backing vice presidential candidate Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) and her running-mate presidential candidate Robert Singer (Jim Beaver), standing stoic and triumphant while red, white and blue confetti rains down on him. Meanwhile, Butcher is solemnly starring at a confetti and balloon-covered floor.

Just based on those drastically different shots, it seems “The Boys” Season 4 will kick off with Neuman and Singer winning the election, much to the detriment of Butcher, Hughie and the Boys who are working to get revenge on secret supe Neuman.

According to Variety’s recent interview with “The Boys” showrunner Eric Kripke, the supe-targeted virus introduced on spinoff “Gen V” will be an important plot point in “The Boys” Season 4.

Filming was completed on “The Boys” Season 4 ahead of the actors strike kicking off in July, and according to Kripke, “most of the editing is done” and the team is “now deep into the music and visual effects” and the marketing team is ramping up, meaning a premiere date should be coming soon.
