Boy's parents under rubble after Russian missile strike

STORY: The attack took place in the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv. A Reuters reporter in the area heard three impacts, the first at around 3:00 a.m.

Roman and his grandmother Nataliia looked on as as rescuers cleared the rubble, and Nataliia said that November 11 is Roman’s mother's birthday.

The teenager said:

"My mum and dad are under rubble. I open the doors and I see smoke billowing. Then I look round the corner and there’s no hallway. No hallway, no nothing.”

Grandmother Nataliia said:

“It is her (Roman’s mother) birthday today! It can’t be her last! I believe she is somewhere under the rubble, and she will be alive!”

Six people were killed in the attack, Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych said, and a seventh person died in hospital, according to Ukrainian Emergency services.
