David Bowie's 20-year-old daughter hits back at online trolls over 'vulgar' swimsuit comments

David Bowie and Iman's daughter, Alexandria "Lexi" Zahra Jones, is exposing her "perverted" online bullies.

On Wednesday, the 20-year-old took to social media to share a photo of herself wearing a one-piece "cowboy" swimsuit to her Instagram story. Shortly after sharing with her more than 80,000 followers, the Bowie progeny fired back at an inappropriate reply she received from an emboldened troll.

"Horny today, aren’t we?" an anonymous user wrote to Jones.

Jones responded by sharing the message to her story for her followers to see, along with a message directed at the haters.

“Feels good to love my body after years of hating it and disrespecting it," she began, before explaining that her post was meant to celebrate her self-love, not sexualize her. "No shame in liking how I look in my cowboy swimsuit, but a shame that you’re able to twist it into something so perverted and vulgar. What a dim-witted piece of trash and sad that there are more people like you. Go f—k yourself.”

Jones has led a far quieter, more unassuming life than both of her iconic parents, but as the saying goes, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Earlier this month, Jones, a burgeoning artist in her own right, took to Instagram earlier this month to explain how art has impacted her life.

"Art has been a rock in my life for as long as I can remember. I took art classes as a kid, always doodling or painting in those classes and during my free time," she wrote. "However I didn't become serious about art and didn't start refining and finding my style until I was in my mid-teens. That's when I developed a deeper passion and knew I wanted to create and share my pieces with the intent to inspire and push others to create their own."

Jones is the only child of Bowie and model Iman, but has two half-siblings from their respective earlier marriages, Duncan Jones, 49, and Zulekha Haywood, 42.

    The SAG-AFTRA National Board extended the dues relief program for actors still struggling financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as a Diversity Action Plan to combat bias and discrimination in the industry. The plan, which was discussed at a board meeting this weekend, includes the creation of diversity committees serving Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) and Latino members and implicit bias training for the guild’s national and local boards. It also introduced the adoption of a new membership rule — Rule 7 — which SAG-AFTRA describes as “explicitly prohibiting harassment and abuse, including sexual harassment, intimidation, and retaliation for the filing of complaints, and making violations subject to disciplinary action.” To enforce this new rule, the board is considering a motion to extend the statute of limitations on member disciplinary charges relating to sexual abuse from six months to 10 years. The new initiatives come after the guild held a summit called “Stop the Hate,” in which prejudice and abuse within film, television and broadcast media was discussed. In an interview with CNN earlier this month, Los Angeles Times owner Patrick Soon-Shiong warned that the U.S. “better wake up” to the escalating attacks. “The unconscious bias and racism is pervasive. For years, the Malfoys were servants of the series’ villain, Lord Voldemort, but fled into hiding when he was seemingly killed on the night he attempted to murder Harry as an infant. To punish the Malfoys for not showing enough loyalty to him, Voldemort ordered Draco to kill Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore, leading to McCrory’s most famous scene in the “Potter” series where she asks Severus Snape, played by the late Alan Rickman, to kill Dumbledore if Draco is unable to do it.
