Boris Johnson Releases Video Statement Discussing Self-Isolation After MP Tests Positive for COVID-19

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said he is self-isolating with “a high heart and full of optimism and confidence,” days after meeting with an MP who later tested positive for COVID-19.

The prime minister shared this video to Twitter on November 16, the day after he was instructed to self-isolate due to being in contact with Ashfield MP Lee Anderson on November 12.

“It doesn’t matter that we were all doing social distancing,” he says in the video, adding: “It doesn’t matter that I’ve had the disease and am bursting with antibodies. We’ve got to interrupt the spread of the disease.”

The prime minster said he was experiencing no symptoms and will continue working from 10 Downing Street. Credit: Boris Johnson via Storyful
