Boris Johnson has outlined plans for lifting Covid restrictions in England. The announcement follows Sajid Javid’s statement in the House of Commons. Infections are expected to rise when the rules are eased but ministers believe hospitalisations and deaths will be limited due to the progress of the UK’s mass immunisation programme. The last stage of the UK government’s roadmap out of lockdown was delayed in June due to rising Covid cases. The new guidance is due to take effect from Monday 19th July.
