Bolts of Lightning Electrify California Night Sky

The California night sky was abuzz with lightning on the night of October 4, when what the National Weather Service described as a “light show” lit up the southern part of the state.

The weather service said there were “2,074 in-cloud and cloud-to-ground lightning strikes detected over Orange, San Diego, and Riverside counties.”
