Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar to get whopping US$11 million for film ‘Welcome 3’

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 10 — Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is set to star in Welcome 3 for a massive pay check of US$11 million (RM50.3 mil).

After a public fallout, it looks like producer Firoz Nadiadwala has succeeded in convincing the 55-year-old actor to return for the third instalment of the popular comedy franchise, reported Bollywood Hungama.

Akshay will be stepping back into his role as handsome bachelor Rajiv Saini, despite his absence in Welcome Back, the sequel to the 2007 hit comedy Welcome.

Directed by Ahmad Khan, Welcome 3 will also star Sanjay Dutt, Paresh Rawal, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani and Arshad Warsi.

This time, it will be an action comedy with makers of the movie hoping to exceed audience expectations with a significantly bigger budget and cast.

Welcome 3, which began shooting earlier this year, is scheduled for release in 2024.
