Bola Tinubu Celebrates as Presidential Election Results Announced

Nigeria’s ruling-party candidate Bola Tinubu was seen celebrating in the early hours of Wednesday, March 1, as he was declared the winner in the presidential election.

The former Lagos state governor was elected president with 37.6 percent of the vote, per results reported by Nigeria’s Premium Times.

The country’s main opposition parties have contested the results and demanded a new round of voting. The EU Election Observation Mission said “lack of efficient planning in critical stages and effective public communication reduced trust in the process.” Credit: Bashir Ahmad via Storyful
