Body of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Arrives at Supreme Court to Lie in State

The casket holding Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died on September 18, arrived at the Supreme Court in Washington on Wednesday morning, September 23, for public viewing.

These videos were shared on Wednesday morning by Lyndsey Medsker, who said the atmosphere outside the Supreme Court building was “completely silent.” Medsker’s footage captures the hearse arriving and the casket holding Justice Ginsburg getting carried up the steps of the court building. Ginsburg’s former law clerks were lined up to pay their respects. The late justice was to lie in state for public viewing Wednesday and Thursday.

Ginsburg died on Friday at age 87 from complications due to metastatic pancreatic cancer, the Supreme Court said in a statement.
