The body of a man has been found in woods near Gwrych Castle, the venue where the current series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here is being filmed.

The discovery was made at around 10am on Saturday morning (28th November) in woodland behind the castle, say North Wales Police, but details of the death are only being reported now. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, there are no suspicious circumstances, and the matter has now been handed to the North Wales coroner, report The Daily Post.

Details of the man's identity have not been released but he is believed to have been riding a mountain bike in the woods. The body was not found at the castle where celebrities are currently filming the hit ITV show nor on its estate, but around 1.3km behind it.

The distressing news comes just two weeks after 58-year-old Sharn Hughes was hit by a car and killed near the same castle, after she stepped out into the road to take a photograph of it. She passed away on Abergele Road in Conwy county on the evening of Saturday 24th November.

This is the first year I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here has taken place in Wales. Usually the celebrity reality show is set in the middle of the New South Wales jungle in Australia, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, producers had to rethink the location to ensure it was closer to home. This year, contestants have included Vernon Kay and Giovanna Fletcher.
