Bodies Exhumed, Aid Distributed in Recaptured Town in Kharkiv Oblast
Residents of the recaptured Ukrainian town of Balaklia in Kharkiv Oblast received humanitarian aid on September 13, while two bodies were exhumed as part of an investigation, Radio Free Europe reported.
Video released by Radio Free Europe on September 13 shows people waiting for humanitarian aid in Balaklia. Correspondent Egor Loginov said locals were “incredibly happy” that Ukrainian troops had recaptured the town. “Many are crying, thanking the military,” Loginov said.
The RFE footage also showed an exhumed body wrapped in black plastic next to a grave. Loginov said the circumstances of the deaths of two locals, allegedly shot by Russian forces, were being investigated.
