Bob Lam loses wife to leiomyosarcoma
22 Oct – A year after she was diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma, Bob Lam [Chi Po] announced that his wife Shirley Dong has passed away.
As reported on Mingpao, the TV personality shared the devastating news on social media on 21 October, writing, "[Parents-in-law], please forgive me for not taking good care of your daughter. Are you now reunited? Dear wife, I will take good care of [our two children]. You can leave without worry. I love you."
Shirley, who received radiotherapy and chemotherapy following her diagnosis, had undergone stem cell therapy a month ago after receiving financial assistance from friends and netizens alike, including fellow artistes Steven Ma, Louis Koo, Nancy Sit, and Liza Wang. While her condition improved for a while, unfortunately, the situation did not last.
On the other hand, Steven who even held a performance to raise money for Shirley's treatment, stated that he hopes that the she will finally have her rest in heaven and not suffer anymore.
"If Bob has any other needs, I will help as much as I can. I have experienced the loss of a loved one as well, and I know how he is feeling. I hope that he can take care of himself," he said.
