Beyoncé may be a globally renowned artist with more than 20 Grammys and multiple world records, but her eight-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, still isn't the biggest fan of the superstar's mom jokes.

As an honorary chairperson of Where Art Can Occur Theater Center, the singer made a virtual appearance for the 2020 Wearable Art Gala, which was cohosted by her mom, Tina Knowles-Lawson, and her mother's husband, Richard Lawson.

In a video posted to the theater's Instagram, a makeup-free Beyoncé stares plainly into the camera wearing a black hoodie and attempts to crack a corny joke. "Why does Snoop Dogg need an umbrella?" she asks.

Suddenly, Blue's hand appears in the frame, shaking Beyoncé's shoulder in a scolding manner. "No, that voice," Blue says, seemingly critiquing the singer's delivery of the joke.

"For drizzle," Bey continues anyway, hitting the anti-climactic punch line.

"Mom," Blue insists again, "the voice. No. No." She then lifts a hand to cover her mother's mouth.

Later in the video, Knowles-Lawson leaves a voice message for her daughter. "Hi, B. I really appreciate you doing the joke 'cause I know how busy you are," she says. "But can't you, like—will you just put on some makeup and get in some good light and stuff because … I mean, it's the gala, girl. All right, call me back."

Bey returns to the video, this time, glammed up to the max. "It's corny-joke time," she announces. "Why does Snoop Dogg need an umbrella? For drizzle, my nizzle."

We don't think Bey will be headlining a stand-up set anytime soon.
