Blue Ice Seen Near Lake Superior Shore
Blue ice could be seen along the shores of Lake Superior in Ashland, Wisconsin, video from May 2 shows.
Video by local photographer Cheryl Koval shows the blue-hued ice scattered on the shore of the lake.
Wisconsin meteorologist Brittney Merlot shared the footage on Facebook, where she wrote that the phenomenon meant that the ice was “strong and dense, with no air bubbles and allowing light to pass through!”
