ArtPlay has released update 1.5 for its Castlevania spiritual successor, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night on Thursday. In addition to bug fixes and premium cosmetics, it adds two game modes and a free Shantae-inspired cosmetic pack. The game is also currently 75% off on Steam and 70% off on the Switch eShop.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night gets new Chaos and Versus Modes, new cosmetics

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s new Chaos Mode sees players battling demons in a series of randomly selected rooms. The longer players survive, the more difficult the challenge becomes. They can face the hordes solo or in local or online co-op. Meanwhile, the new Versus Mode lets players battle each other either online or in local multiplayer.

The update also adds the free Shantae Half-Genie Cosmetic Pack to every Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night player’s inventory. Its contains:

  • Half-Genie Outfit (Body Slot)

  • Half-Genie Vest (Accessory Slot)

  • Half-Genie Tiara (Accessory Slot)

  • Risky Blade (Weapon Slot)

  • Risky Pistol (Weapon Slot)

  • Risky Bandana (Head Slot)

  • Half Genie Fireball (Directional Shard)

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night also has three paid DLC item packs accompanying the 1.5 update. The Succubus, Magical Girl, and Japanesque packs are $2.99 on Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch. Equipping every item in a specific pack unlocks the associated special stat bar. The DLC items include:
