Blinken reaches out to neighbors at Americas Summit

STORY: Blinken was joined by Canadian Foreign minister Melanie Joly, and Panamanian Foreign Minister Erika Mouynes in Los Angeles to discuss good governance, seeking more cooperation among the countries in the continent.

"In government, part of our challenge is trying to bring together all the different interested groups, parties, stakeholders, and finding a way forward. And that way forward is probably not going to be perfect. But hopefully it's progress," said Blinken.

The Biden administration unveiled a new proposed U.S. economic partnership with Latin America as regional leaders gathered for the summit, whose agenda has been undermined by a partial boycott by leaders upset at Washington's decision to exclude Cuba and the leftist governments of Venezuela and Nicaragua.
