Blake Lively’s style always makes an impression. She showed this once again as she walked out of the Crosby Street Hotel on a sunny afternoon in New York City, dressed to the nines. Supposedly, the actress was in town for a movie screening for her upcoming film, The Rhythm Section, but based on how primped she looked, she could have been mistaken for being on a movie set. Either way, the ensemble was glamorous and befitted her fashion maven reputation.

It has been only a little more than three months since Lively gave birth to her third child with husband Ryan Reynolds, which is perhaps why she has noticeably steered clear of the spotlight, but now that her film is set to hit theaters later this week, the 32-year-old is hitting the pavement—and looking good doing it.

With a '40s-esque half updo, ruby-red lipstick, and flushed cheeks, Lively definitely gave face to the photographers and fans outside the hotel. Not be outdone was her outfit. She wore a flowing trench coat with an exaggerated collar in a dusty pink, and accessorized it with oxblood-red gauntlets and matching lace-up booties. Some could even mistake the look for a chic falconry outfit from a bygone era, or femme fatale à la Barbara Stanwyck. What made it modern, however, were the rows of gold chains with a number of locks and pendants around her neck, which gave us Missy Elliott vibes.
