Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' support for those suffering during the coronavirus pandemic goes beyond their public $1 million donation to Feeding America and Food Banks Canada. E! reports this evening that the couple donated $400,000 to four New York hospitals. New York is currently the state with the most coronavirus cases in the country. It's also Lively and Reynolds' home: They have an apartment in New York City and a house north of the city, in Bedford.

The couple personally donated $100,000 each to the four hardest hit hospitals, including Elmhurst, NYU Hospital, Mount Sinai, and Northern Westchester, according to E!. The outlet was told that "the couple wants to continue encouraging people around the country to help their communities, local hospitals, and healthcare workers during this time."

Two weeks ago, Lively and Reynolds encouraged their followers to donate to coronavirus relief organizations when they announced their initial $1 million donation.

"Covid-19 has brutally impacted older adults and low income families," Lively explained in her Instagram post. "Ryan & I are donating $1 million to be split between @feedingamerica and @foodbankscanada. If you can give, these orgs need our help."

She emphasized the importance of quarantining during this time but staying connected digitally: "Though we must be distancing ourselves to protect those who don’t have the opportunity to self quarantine, we can stay connected," she continued. "Remember the lonely and isolated. FaceTime, Skype, make a video. Remember the love that can travel through all this. Communities are stepping up—shopping for the elderly, making lunches for children. We can all do something for one another, even if that’s simply staying home. ❤️"

She used the opportunity to add a little levity and send a message to Reynolds: "Sending so much love. Now can someone please tell Ryan that 'emotional distancing' from his mother in law is not a thing. Nothing can save him. ☺️"
