Blackpink is the most streamed female band on Spotify with over 8.8 billion streams

KUALA LUMPUR, March 9 — South Korean K-Pop girl group Blackpink have become the most streamed female band on Spotify.

Guinness World Records noted that the K-pop group accumulated 8,880,030,049 individual streams on their songs with 20,366,768 monthly listeners.

The quartet dethroned British pop group Little Mix by over 400 million streams.

Their highest-streamed songs on Spotify include How You Like That (746,198,263 streams), Kill This Love (672,084,360), and DDU-DU DDU-DU (574,613,362).

The group are also the most subscribed band on YouTube and the first K-Pop group to reach the top spot on the UK and US Albums Chart among many other records.

Blackpink’s individual members have also been trailblazers in their solo music projects.

Jennie’s SOLO became the first song by a Korean solo artist to hit over 400 million streams on Spotify.

Rose’s On The Ground became the first song by a solo artist to reach number one on the Billboard Global chart.

Lisa recently achieved three Guinness World Records for her wins for being the first K-Pop solo winner at the MTV Music Video Awards (VMAs) and European Music Awards (EMAs) and being the K-pop artist with the most Instagram followers.

Meanwhile, Jisoo is set to make her solo debut on March 31 with her single album ME.

Blackpink is currently on the Asian stretch of the Born Pink World Tour with upcoming performances in Indonesia, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Japan.
