Blackie Chen feels sorry for wife Christine Fan

23 Sep – Taiwanese entertainer Blackie Chen recently expressed frustration over the backlash against wife Christine Fan for her comments about good friend Fish Leong's marital woes and subsequent divorce.

As reported on Epoch Times, the TV personality, who spoke about the issue during a brand event in Taipei recently, stated that he would rather not make any more comments about the issue after it evolved to such a point that it hurts his family.

"This is a family affair. You should ask this issue to Fish and her company. It's not convenient for us to say anything," he said.

Blackie also stressed that whenever there is a controversy surrounding a celebrity's personal life, reporters should just ask the parties involved instead of going around asking for opinion of other people.

"I love Fan Fan. I love her kindness. But everyone seemed to take it the wrong way. She didn't respond at all. As a husband, I felt bad for her. But I don't think it matters anymore for us to explain," he said.

The issue surrounding Christine Fan sparked earlier this month, when the singer's manager made the blunder of telling the media that Christine already knew about Fish's troubled marriage for a while. She later tried to express her support for Fish following the latter's confession that she and businessman husband Tony Chao had divorced, but only sparking more anger from fans who claimed that she was trying to defend herself in the same post.
