Blackburn Rovers Host Eid Prayers at Ewood Park

Blackburn Rovers hosted more than 3,000 Muslims on the club’s pitch for Eid prayers on May 2, marking the end of Ramadan.

Footage from the club shows prayer mats laid out on the grass at Ewood Park. According to Blackburn Rovers, the event was the first of its kind in the UK.

Rovers CEO Steve Waggot said: “We’ve all suffered over the past two years through Covid and social restrictions, so to see all the families – some or most who would never think about coming to Ewood Park – walking in here today was just wonderful to see and now that they’ve seen it and they’ve had a lovely time, hopefully they want to come back.” Credit: Blackburn Rovers FC via Storyful
