Black MEP alleges police brutality, describes 'traumatic' experience

During a debate at the European Parliament, MEP Pierrette Herzberger-Fofana says she has been "the victim of police violence by the Belgian police" and announces that she has lodged a complaint, denouncing "a discriminatory act with racist tendencies". A police spokesperson confirmed the MEP had been searched by a female officer -- "in the usual procedure" -- and had been temporarily deprived of her liberty. Police have lodged a complaint with prosecutors alleging she had showed contempt for the officers.
