Black Bear Casually Struts Across Busy Road in Downtown Asheville
A black bear was seen casually crossing a street in Downtown Asheville on Thursday, April 21.
Video recorded by Stephen Collins shows the large animal, wearing a tracking collar, seemingly looking both ways before making its way across a pedestrian crosswalk.
In a Facebook post, Asheville Police Department said it appreciated the “law-abiding” bear but warned residents to be “aware of their surroundings” amid a rise in bear sitings.
