Bison Charge Past Tourist Couple at Yellowstone National Park

A couple travelling through Yellowstone National Park said they got quite the “welcoming committee” when two bison charged toward their car near West Thumb, Wyoming, on September 14.

Leanda Smith, who shot this footage, told Storyful she and her husband were on their first trip to Jackson Hole, Grand Tetons and Yellowstone to celebrate their 13-year anniversary.

“Little did we know we would get such a welcoming committee,” Smith said. “This was so rare and so great!”

In the video, two bison can be seen charging down a tree-lined road. They can be heard grunting as they pass by the Smiths’ open car windows. Credit: Leanda Smith via Storyful
