Billy Crudup and Naomi Watts Have 'No Competitive Vibes' Toward Each Other (Except 'When We're Playing Wordle')
The two are both nominees at the 2024 Emmys
Billy Crudup and Naomi Watts know that couples who play together stay together.
The pair, who got married in June 2023, told E! News during the red carpet pre-show at the 76th annual Primetime Emmy Awards that they're grateful to have one another, especially during the chaos of awards season.
"We were talking about it this morning, what a power couple we were," joked Crudup, 56, before praising his wife. "It's incredibly gratifying to be by her side," he added, and Watts, 55, agreed.
"The same. It's much easier to do this with someone," she said, adding that she's "grateful to be nominated for the first time" at the Emmys.

Watts is nominated for her role as New York City socialite Babe Paley on FX's Feud: Capote vs. the Swans.
The actress also said that "having someone on your team, holding the hand, little bit of eye contact just to center yourself" is helpful and made her feel a more at ease during awards shows and public appearances because even though she's done them before, it never feels "natural."

The pair also shared that they support each other by trading acting advice.
"We talk about work quite a bit and we'll run through ideas that we'll have for scenes or characters. And I have to say that there are no competitive vibes at all," said Crudup, who is nominated for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series for Apple TV+’s The Morning Show alongside costars Jon Hamm and Mark Duplass.

The one exception to the couple's "no competitive vibes" rule? "When we're playing Wordle!" Watts said with a laugh.
"The acting we love talking about, and we support each other's work," Crudup chimed in, but "don't ever play Scrabble with her!"
