In a response to George Floyd's death, Billie wrote a message on her profile explaining what white privilege is and speaking against those who refuse to say Black Lives Matter.
"I've been trying to take this week to figure out a way to address this delicately. I have an enormous platform and I try really hard to be respectful and take time to think through what I say and how I say it. But holy f*cking sh*t, I'm just gonna start talking," she wrote.
"If I hear one more white person say 'aLL liVeS maTtEr' one more f*cking time, I'm gonna lose my f*cking mind," she continued. "Will you shut the f*ck up? No one is saying your life is not hard. No one is saying literally anything at all about you. All you mfs do is find a way to make everything about yourself. This is not about you. Stop making everything about you. You are not in need. You are not in danger."
Billie continued by pointing out that white people are able to experience hardships, even with their white privilege, but that they still have an advantage against other marginalized groups.
"You can be poor, you can be struggling. And still your skin color is giving you more privilege than you even realize and nobody is saying that makes you better than anyone," she wrote. "It just lets you live your life without having to worry about surviving simply because of your skin color!!! You are privileged!! If all lives matter why are black people killed for just being black?"
"Does white privilege affect Hispanic people? Native Americans? Asian people? Yes for f*cking sure it does," she continued. "But right now right in this moment... we have to address hundreds of years of oppression of black people. The slogan of #BlackLivesMatter does not mean other lives don't. It's calling attention to the fact that society clearly thinks black lives don't f*cking matter!!!!!! And they f*cking do!!!!!!"
Along with encouraging her fans to educate themselves and help by donating money to various charities, she's also asking them to stand up and protest in any way that they can.
"If you live with older parents/grandparents/anyone in your family [who] is at higher rise for severe illness and you're worried about their health bu you want to protest!: you can always make signs! put them in your car windows!! stand on the side of busy streets and hold up signs! chat! shout! speak up! & stay safe! don't just do nothing."
