Billboards Welcome Cristiano Ronaldo to Riyadh

Billboards welcomed soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on January 2, ahead of his official unveiling as a player for the local Al Nassr team.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid attacker arrived on January 2 amid cold and rainy conditions at the Saudi capital’s King Khalid International Airport at around 11 pm local time, according to local news reports.

Earlier in the day, a message was posted on Ronaldo’s Instagram Stories showing the 37-year-old sitting on board a plane. He smiled as he told viewers: “Hi guys, see you soon.”

Ronaldo was due to be officially unveiled as an Al Nassr player at the club’s Mrsool Park stadium on January 3.

Video filmed by Twitter user @EbraheemHumadi shows billboards at The Boulevard, located in the Hittin neighborhood of Riyadh, depicting Ronaldo wearing the Al Nassr kit.
