Bill Clinton Released From Hospital After Being Treated For Flu – Update

UPDATED: Bill Clinton will be back home for Christmas. The former president was released from the hospital Tuesday after being treated for the flu, said Angel Ureña, Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, in a statement on X.

“He and his family are deeply grateful for the exceptional care provided by the team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and are touched by the kind messages and well wishes he received. He sends his warmest wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season to all, Ureña added.

Clinton was admitted to the Washington DC hospital Monday after developing a fever.

The former president has dealt with numerous health issues leaving office in 2001. He underwent a quadruple bypass operation in 2004. In 2010, he underwent surgery to place two stents in his coronary artery.

He also was hospitalized in 2021 at UCI Medical Center in Orange for an infection for about six days.

“President Clinton was admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center this afternoon for testing and observation after developing a fever,” the aide, Angel Ureña, wrote on X. “He remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving.”

Clinton was hospitalized in 2021 at UCI Medical Center in Orange for an infection for about six days.

Clinton, 78, has been on a book tour to promote his most recent book, Citizen: My Life After The White House. He also campaigned for Kamala Harris in the recent presidential election, and spoke at the Democratic National Convention.
