President Biden is addressing the United Auto Workers at an event in Washington on Wednesday afternoon. According to The Associated Press, which cites an anonymous source, the union is expected to give the incumbent its official endorsement.

Overall union membership in the U.S. took a surprising dip in the latest figures, even though 2023 marked a banner year for labor activity. Still, union support is no small matter as Biden makes his case for reelection. Auto industry workers and others in the blue-collar sector are going to be a significant demographic in swing states like Michigan, which Biden won in 2020 but has shown numbers behind former President Trump in recent polling.
