The 43-year-old superstar gave fans a rare glimpse into her haircare routine with an in-depth wash day video shared on Monday, Sept. 9. Using products from her brand Cécred, the Grammy winner takes viewers through each step while also sharing an up-close look at her long natural hair.

In the tutorial, Beyoncé wears a black hoodie and no makeup as she and a stylist take turns applying products on her hair.

"First I'm gonna start with the scalp scrub," the "Single Ladies" singer says in a voiceover. "I take my time and apply to my scalp in sections... I let it sit and enjoy that refreshing tingle and then I rinse it out.

Next up is the hydrating shampoo, which is lathered into the star's hair. "Notice that I'm keeping the hair straight," she says. "I'm parting it into sections and shampooing one section at a time. That's one of my secrets."

The star then rinses her hair, mentioning another top tip, "Make sure you rinse those edges well, especially at the nape of the neck," she says.

Next up: the hydrating conditioner. "Again, parting hair into sections to avoid tangling and evenly saturate every strand," Mrs. Knowles-Carter says via voiceover. To help the conditioner get to work, she twists her hair into four buns and sits under the dryer. She points out that this step isn't necessary, but she wanted to use the drying time to get her nails done.

The final step is a blow dry, which Beyoncé does without any products. She then brushes out her strands and pulls them into a sleek top knot before slipping on a pair of sunglasses and zipping up her hoodie.

In April, the Destiny's Child alum shared her natural hair care routine on Instagram with a video "from the archives."

The tutorial seemingly acknowledged criticism of Cécred that began bubbling up when the brand was first announced in 2023.

Per Glamour, critics claimed the singer didn’t have enough expertise on natural hair because she often wears wigs. Others chimed in that Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, is a licensed cosmetologist who used to manage a hair salon and surely passed her hair care knowledge onto her daughter.

"Being disruptive and challenging everything people feel should be the process has always been exciting to me,” Beyoncé wrote in the caption. “My hair and music seemed to do that a lot over the years…”

She added that “maintaining 25 years of blonde on natural hair through all the experimenting I do” was key to the development of Cécred.
