‘Bette Midler, Kiss Her Hiney’: West Virginia Gov. Justice Flashes Dog's Behind During State Address

West Virginia Governor Jim Justice flashed his dog’s behind as he hit out at critics during his 2022 State of the State address on Thursday, January 27.

Justice concluded his address by bringing up his bulldog, named Babydog, picking her up, turning her rear-end to the audience, and saying “Babydog tells Bette Midler and all those out there, kiss her hiney.”

The move was met by laughter and a standing ovation from the West Virginia Legislature.

In December 2021, Midler had tweeted criticism of West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin, saying he was “just like his state, West Virginia. Poor, illiterate and strung out." Credit: West Virginia Public Broadcasting via Storyful
