Between filming for her new reality competition series on HBO Max to managing her Skinnygirl empire, entrepreneur, former Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel tries her best to stay healthy year-round. Good Housekeeping sat down with the 49-year-old to see what exactly she eats (and drinks) in a day, plus her other secrets to staying fit.

What she eats is always a little up in the air, but she's not a fan of dieting fads.

When it comes to dieting trends, Bethenny doesn't let them phase her. "I’m old enough to know that fat-free was a craze, low-carb, eat your weight in meat and cheese was a phase, keto is a fad, the Zone was a moment, and so on .... so yes, I eat carbs. I eat everything, but I don’t binge," she says.

Bethenny doesn't have a set eating schedule and says that she loves variety. She prefers snacking, but does make sure she's eating two healthy meals daily. Some of her favorite snacks include her Skinnygirl popcorn, NuGo vegan bars, and Larabar's peanut butter chocolate chip flavor if she's on-the-go. "What I eat has no consistency," Bethenny says. "Today, it was an egg white vegetable omelet with a baked potato and a few french fries for lunch. Sometimes, it's arugula with tomato, avocado, and Parmesan. Pureed soups are a mainstay for me."

She's a matcha lover.

If she has time for breakfast, Bethenny prefers a toasted wheat bagel, lightly scooped with butter, or some version of avocado toast with a poached egg. She's been big into matcha almond milk lattes lately, and she also likes using her Skinnygirl coffee pods with almond milk creamer in the morning.

Actually, Bethenny loves all beverages ...

She enjoys kombucha, green juices with apple or citrus fruits, spicy margaritas, white wine, charcoal or spicy lemonade, and vodka with olives on the rocks.

... and sweets.

She also admits to having a serious sweet tooth, so she makes a point to eat something sweet at least once or twice a day, but in moderation. She'll have a few bites of a decadent cake, some vegan ice cream, a couple dark chocolate nonpareils, or bark with nuts.

She relies on pantry staples.

A few things that Bethenny always keeps stocked in her kitchen include: avocado, dairy-free ice cream, angel hair pasta, arugula, baby tomatoes, Skinnygirl dressing, cauliflower gnocchi, and cauliflower pizza crust.

She believes in sleep over exercise, and taking her supplements.

When it comes to exercise, Bethenny only does it when she has time. When she does, she prefers yoga or walking on the beach. She works out an average of one to two times a week in the winter and three times a week in the summer. Sleep is more of a priority than exercise for Bethenny, and with her lifestyle, she is usually an early riser. "My philosophy on eating and exercise is to do what you can when you can," Bethenny said in an Instagram post in 2019 . "I choose time with my daughter and sleep first. If I’m near a beach, I take an hour walk. If I have the time, I’ll do a yoga DVD. I don’t believe in fear based, torturous, aggressive exercise. Life is too short and stressful to dread doing something for an hour. In addition, extreme exercise creates extreme hunger."

Frankel also follows a supplement regimen which features her new Skinnygirl line of supplements for women. She partnered with supplement brand VirMax, LLC to create four initial supplement formulations which include: Hair, Skin & Nails with Biotin, Collagen Enhancer, Relaxation & Sleep Support with Melatonin, and Sensuality for Female Intimacy. "A rested woman with good and healthy supple skin, hair and nails who is having sex is a happy lucky woman. Make the effort," she says.
