Dress of the day: Flattering animal print midi you’ll wear all year round
As far as we're concerned, animal print is the ultimate wardrobe staple that stands the test of time.
While some leopard or cheetah patterned items are not for the faint hearted, we find that a more subtly printed midi dress is a great throw-on item that is on-trend all year round.

Why we rate it
The dress, available in sizes six to 20, has the most flattering silhouette. It tapers beautifully at the waist thanks to some subtle elastication at the back and a slim tie at the waist, which can be secured in a bow at the back.
Then, there's the sleeves. Not only are they the perfect 3/4 length (which makes them ideal for all year round wear), they have just enough volume to give them a lovely shape without being too puffy.
And, of course, the subtle, bespoke animal print really pops in all the right ways. We love the beautifully soft, viscose fabric too, which floats gently over the skin and is lightweight.
It's versatile, too. In colder months, stick a black jumper on top, with tights and knee-high boots. For those days in the office when you need to make an impression, it'll look great with an oversized blazer in black or cream.

The dress dropped very recently on the John Lewis website, so currently there's only three reviews.
However, unsurprisingly, it's received mostly four and five-star ratings. "Beautiful well fitting dress" said one reviewer. "I am very pleased with quality and the price. Highly recommend."
Another shopper commented, "Really gorgeous dress, true to size and looks great."
Although, one customer did flag that they weren't sold on the length of the dress. They said, "Nice dress but described as midi length but much longer." So, that's definitely something to keep in mind when making your purchase!
