Ben Shephard has revealed that he was "shamed" at his son's birth - over his height.
The TV star, who has two sons with his wife Annie, opened up about what happened on Good Morning Britain.
He told his co-host Susanna Reid that he'd recently been chatting to someone who "couldn’t believe" that his son Sam was actually his.
Reid suggested that it was because Shephard, 47, looked young and joked that he and Sam could pass for brothers.
But, laughing, the presenter admitted that height might have been a factor, sharing that his son - who is 17 - is now 6ft 3.
“It’s also because he’s enormous and they are questioning the lineage,” he said.
But he hastily added: “I’m above average height though, before we go any further!"
Reid jokingly told Shephard not to be "heightist" about the whole thing and he agreed, before sharing that he had some experience of that himself.
“I said that to the midwife the day he (Sam) was born,” the presenter said.
“She looked at me and looked at him the day he was born and said ‘Let’s hope his uncle is tall'.
“I was being height-shamed by the midwife the day Sam was born!"
Reid saw the funny side and chuckled, saying: "Awkward!"
Shephard met his now wife Annie when they were both students at the University of Birmingham.
They went on to tie the knot in 2004.
Sam was born in 2005 and two years later the couple welcomed a second son, Jack.
