Belongings Piled High Outside Flood-Struck Homes in Westchester County

Residents of Mamaroneck, New York, worked to clean up the damage caused by Storm Ida, which hit the tristate area with flooding rain and overflowed the Mamaroneck River, causing life-threatening flooding, late September 1 into September 2.

Video from Taylor Jung shows belongings littering the sidewalks in the Westchester County town on Saturday, September 4, as residents began recovery work.

Similar scenes were reported in Rye, about 3.5 miles northeast of Mamaroneck along the same stretch of coastline, where the contents of homes were piled high in front of flood-damaged homes. Credit: Taylor Jung via Storyful
