A man in Beijing not wearing a face mask:It would have been an unusual sight in the Chinese capital this year, until Friday (August 21) that is.
Authorities have now said people are not required to wear masks outdoors.
The rules were relaxed as Beijing reported 13 consecutive days without fresh cases of the new virus.
Even though there was no requirement to put a mask on, many kept wearing them.
It's the second time health authorities have allowed people to go mask-free in the city, which has been through two rounds of lockdowns, but is now mostly back to normal.
Elsewhere, China has reported no new locally transmitted cases on the mainland for five days.
Viral videos of a massive pool party in Wuhan this week, were said by the government to be evidence of their success over the virus.
Health experts say China's ability to control the outbreak is down to strict enforcement of local rules.
It includes wearing masks, home quarantine, and mass testing.
