Andrew Coté has over 60 beehives

on rooftops and community gardens across the city

He usually harvests honey in July and September

"In New York City, if one has a beehive, those bees are going to collect their nectar from a variety of different sources and there's really a plethora of opportunities for them. It's quite a smorgasbord because very few of these trees here in Manhattan are indigenous, so many, many different flowering blooming sources of nectar exist for these bees. And so they create, through their special alchemy, this beautiful honey that cannot be found anywhere else in the world."
