A Beautician, Her Boyfriend and His Mom Were Found Slain in a Home Fire. But Who Killed Them?
Kelly Masciarelli, Kolin Foster and Cameryn Richard were found in their home that had been set ablaze, per Texas authorities
Authorities in Texas are investigating the deaths of three people they say were killed before their home was set on fire.
Kelly Masciarelli, Kolin Foster and Cameryn Richard have been tentatively identified as the victims whose bodies were found in their Cypress, Texas, home over the weekend, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez has said.
Foster is believed to be Masciarelli’s son and Richard’s boyfriend, per the sheriff’s office, KPRC-TV and ABC 13 reported. They all lived in the home, per Gonzalez.
Harris County officials responded to a house fire on Sunday morning where they found three deceased bodies, Gonzalez said.
“Arson Investigators advised the fire looked to be deliberate and started by an accelerant,” the sheriff said in his social media statement. “It was determined the fire was started after the victims were deceased.”
Saul Suarez of the sheriff’s office said that homicide detectives noted that the bodies showed signs of foul play and trauma, the Houston Chronicle, FOX 26 and ABC 13 reported.
Investigators believe the suspect fled through the backdoor, KPRC-TV reported.
“This is definitely a homicide, not accidental deaths due to ... fire and smoke inhalation,” Michael Ritchie with the sheriff’s office said, per KPRC-TV.
Authorities have not discussed any potential suspects or persons of interest, or disclosed whether they're looking for one or more people. Ritchie said the house wasn't completely burned down so authorities were able to gather some evidence, per the outlet.
Investigators towed a red Corvette as a subject of interest because Foster had recently bought it, they told ABC 13.
A neighbor reported hearing the car door slam early in the morning of the fire but did not recognize the driver, per the outlet.
Neighbors said the family was friendly but reserved, KPRC-TV reported.
A friend of Richard who met her in beauty school told ABC 13 that she had heard from her just a few days earlier.
